Tape Diapers vs Pull-Up Pants: When Should You Switch?
Switch when lying still for a change has become a negotiation you're losing. For most babies that's 9 to 12 months, once she can pull herself up and would far rather be doing that.
No milestone requires it. Tapes don't stop working at any age. It's a practicality decision, so nobody is behind.
The difference
Same absorbency, different fastening. That one change alters how you take a dirty one off, which is the part nobody warns you about.

No rush and no penalty in either direction. Plenty of families keep tapes for nights and use pants by day for months.
Pull-ups aren't potty training pants
They look identical and do opposite jobs, and that's the reason this catches so many people out, including me with my first.
A pull-up pant is a diaper in a different shape. It absorbs everything and keeps her feeling dry. A training pant is less absorbent so she notices she's wet. Noticing is the whole point.
Moving to pants at 10 months has nothing to do with potty readiness and starts no clock. Readiness signals are a separate subject and arrive far later. Around 24 months for ours, I'd guess, though I haven't been counting.
On potty training
What tapes are still better at
Nights, for one reason: the adjustable tabs let you fine-tune the fit at the waist and the legs, which is exactly the control you want across a 10-hour stretch, whereas a pant that gaps slightly at the waist has no remedy except a different size. Plenty of households use both for months: pants by day and in the bag, tapes in the drawer for bedtime. That isn't indecision. Each does the job it's better at, and it's what we do.

The cost difference, and when it bites
Pull-up pants cost more per piece than tape diapers in the same size and brand. Little Rei's trial pack is 2 pieces from S$2.60, enough to test a size. Our M packs are 32 of each, so divide the two prices and you have the gap in cents. Know it before the switch becomes a habit.
Pack sizes differ between the two formats, which is where this comparison usually goes wrong, so work in cents per diaper and never in dollars per pack.

The pattern almost everybody arrives at: both. Tapes overnight and at home where a lying-down change is easy. Pants once she's walking and objecting. It's the cheaper option in each situation.
The one place the arithmetic reverses is potty training. Pull-ups are convenient and they also feel like a diaper, and a good many families find training takes longer while they're in use. Training underwear costs more up front and less over the fortnight, because the fortnight gets shorter. I don't have a number for how much shorter. Nobody does.
