Baby Has Sensitive Skin: What Should You Look for in a Diaper?
Four things, in this order: no fragrance, no lotion or aloe coating, no dyes where the skin touches, and a breathable outer layer. Everything else on a diaper packet is either a claim you cannot verify or a marketing word with no definition behind it.
And one thing that matters more than any of them: how long the diaper stays on. A perfect diaper worn for four hours in a warm room will irritate skin that a mediocre diaper changed every two hours will not.
What should you actually look for?

Hypoallergenic is not a regulated word anywhere that matters. Fragrance-free is a checkable fact. Prefer the fact.
Does breathability actually matter?
In this climate, considerably. A diaper is an occlusive layer by design, and occlusion plus warmth plus moisture is the mechanism behind most irritant rash. A breathable back sheet — a microporous film that lets water vapour through while holding liquid — measurably lowers the humidity and temperature inside the diaper.
It is not magic, and it does not replace changing frequently. But of the features you can pay extra for, it is the one with the clearest mechanism behind it in a country where the air outside the diaper is already at 80% humidity.
Is bamboo better for sensitive skin?
For the layer against the skin, a bamboo viscose topsheet is genuinely softer and handles moisture better than a standard polypropylene one — that part is real. What is not real is the implication that a bamboo diaper is therefore a natural product: the absorbent core is still superabsorbent polymer, and the outer film is still plastic in almost every product on the shelf.
We sell bamboo textiles and we are still going to say that plainly, because the category is full of claims that do not survive being asked what they mean. What to compare is the topsheet material, the fragrance and lotion status, and the breathability of the back sheet. Those are answerable questions.

What if she has eczema?
- Fragrance-free and lotion-free stop being preferences and become requirements.
- Change more often than the packet suggests, because eczema-prone skin has a weaker barrier to start with.
- Dry thoroughly at every change. Patting with a soft cloth, not rubbing.
- Use the emollient your doctor has prescribed, and apply barrier cream over it rather than instead of it.
- Watch the creases and the waistband edge, where friction and moisture combine.
- If the rash extends well beyond the diaper area, it is eczema being managed rather than a diaper problem being solved — that is a conversation with your doctor.
