Cofounder, Little Rei · Mum of one
Roshni Mahtani Cheung
Roshni is one of the cofounders of Little Rei and the mother of one daughter, Shan. She writes the guides here that come out of being in it — the broken nights, the baby who would only sleep on her, the year spent hunting for a reason that turned out to have been in her hands the whole time.
She carried Shan everywhere, which is how she learned most of what she knows about what babies will and will not tolerate against their skin. Her interest in fabric is not a marketing position; it came from a decade of working out why her own daughter could not sleep, and only understanding it when Shan was ten.
She writes warmly and without pretending it was tidy. Where there is good evidence she cites it, and where she got something wrong she says so — on the grounds that the useful part of anybody's parenting story is usually the mistake rather than the outcome.
