Commercial Director · Dad of four

Eric Richfield

Eric runs commercial partnerships at Little Rei and is the father of four: Tommy, who is twelve and has recently discovered sarcasm; Erica, who is nine and has always had it; and Susan and Mary, two-year-old twins who operate as a single entity with two sets of hands.

He is English, which explains the tone, and a hands-on parent, which explains the rest. He writes the guides here about the parts of family life that are logistical before they are emotional — getting four children through an airport, refereeing an argument about whose turn it is, working out why a nine-year-old has gone quiet, and the specific arithmetic of doing bedtime for twins on your own.

He also plays and watches a great deal of football, and has views on how early is too early to take a two-year-old to a match. The answer, arrived at empirically, is later than he thought.

Eric is not a clinician, a psychologist or a teacher. He writes as a parent who has done a particular thing four times and taken notes, alongside the evidence where evidence exists. Nothing here replaces advice from someone qualified to give it.
